Anco Bearings Applied in the Open Water-Lubrication Stern Shaft System of Container Ships

In CSC Nanjing Tanker Corporation Zi Jinshan Shipyard, Anco bearing completed its installation on multi-purpose container ship (Jifa Bohai). This is another successful case of Anco bearing in the application of the diversification of the ship type. Ship “Jifa Bohai” was a 600TEU container ship which was built by Huanghai Shipbuilding Co., Ltd in Shandong in 2005. The ship was designed by CSSC, whose stern bearing was designed as biaxial opening water-lubrication form. Inside the steel stern tube, there were two stern bearings equipped in the front and the back separately. The navigable areas of “Jifa Bohai” are Yangtze River and some coastal areas. The ship once used an import brand and a domestic brand of Shanghai, whose axles are more eccentric and corrosion of whose seat hole is more serious.

With the close cooperation between the shipyard and service providers, the eccentric problem of stern tube was successfully solved by Anco bearing. Both sides also provided an on-site guidance for the processing and installation of bearings, which ensured the installation clearance meeting the operating requirements. From the aspects of product quality and after-sales service, Anco bearing received favorable comments from ship-owner and shipyard again.
